August 18, 2018 | Leave a comment Are you feeling defeated in this life? There is good news! Jesus came and paid the price for you! He paid for your victory and if it is already paid for, you may as well enjoy it and stop allowing this life to defeat you every step of the way. Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” If we understand what was available “in Him” we wouldn’t have to live defeated any longer. If the bank called today and said, someone came in and paid the remaining balance of your mortgage today and that you no longer need to send payments, would you continue to send payments? No, you would rejoice and be grateful that you no longer needed to send payment. God sent payment for you, He sent His Son to pay the penalty for you but not just for your sin, for your redemption. The word salvation means to be made whole. All your debt to this old life has been paid, all your debt to sin, has been paid. All you have to do is rejoice and receive it! Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Are you persuaded? When we are more than conquerors it means we aren’t less than. To conqueror means to overcome, that we are able to defeat any contest, to overcome any obstacle. The Bible doesn’t just say that we are conquerors though, it says more than. Is your circumstances determining your victory or are you persuaded that the Word of God is true and you can have what is says you can have? In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were doing nothing wrong. They were following God and they found themselves in a not so desirable place. They found themselves bound in shackles, sitting in an inner prison cell, whipped, beaten, and naked. How many people, throw in the towel of defeat and would allow that circumstance to be the end of them. Most people wallow and cry about how unfair life is. Not Paul and Silas. They were fully persuaded of the love of the Father and just started singing praises and rejoicing knowing that no matter how bad it seemed, there was nothing that could separate them from the love of the Father. Nothing could defeat them because they were in Him! And when they were unwilling to accept defeat, when they were unwilling to allow their circumstance determine their outcome, there was an “and suddenly”. God was able to move, He opened the prison gates, lossed the shackles and not only were they set free, the prison guard and all his family were delivered and restored! It is time to start seeing yourself as more than a conqueror through and in His love! Turn your heart to Him and His deliverance, His abilities, stop looking at your circumstances to determine your future, but look to Jesus!
